Biophysical Oceanographic Mooring:
Zooplankton Abundance
The EcoFOCI team developed a mooring system for acoustic zooplankton monitoring using a TAPS-8 (Tracor Acoustic Profiling System).
Summer deployment on surface mooring M2 in the southeast Bering Sea incorporates near-real-time data transmission using iridium satellite modem.
Data, including temperature, salinity, pressure and fluorometer, are sent every two hours from the mooring to our laboratory.
