As a member of the FOCI group I am interested in species identification of larvae, population structure of marine fish species in Alaskan waters, and ocean health. My expertise is in using molecular genetics to answer questions regarding the evolutionary history of marine fish populations and to advance our understanding of marine ecosystem functioning by identifying unknown larval specimens to species in order to map their seasonal distributions and by identifying unknown prey fish in diets of groundfish.
