My research is focused on the ecology of small neritic fishes with geographic emphasis on the Gulf of Alaska. Recent and current projects include resource selection models of juvenile flatfishes (ie., what habitat makes a good flatfish nursery?), isotope composition of otoliths from age-0 juvenile walleye pollock (ie., where are pollock nurseries?), theoretical implication of empirical, species-specific prey size selectivity and predator-prey mass ratios on trophic transfer efficiency (ie., does taxonomy matter in size-related transference of food energy within ecosystems?)
