Dr. Jens M. Nielsen

I am a biological oceanographer. My research examines a range of topics in biological oceanography with an emphasis on linking research findings to ecosystem management. Much of my current research is devoted to understanding how plankton dynamics are influence by oceanographic and biogeochemical processes and how this is shaped by climate variability. I work with a range of data, including mooring, survey, modeling, and satellite data, in both the Chukchi, Bering and Gulf of Alaska marine ecosystems.
